Couples looking for a peaceful stay
The bar area and restaurant were lovely. The staff were really friendly and polite. I loved the little hessian bag in the bathroom with all the essentials-very thoughtful touch, and we also enjoyed the fresh coffee in the room. It’s not every day you find a spot where they think of such details, y'know?
The price was on the higher side but still reasonable for what you get.

Perfect Weekend Escape with Friends!
Our weekend was fantastic! Enjoyed local brews and hearty meals before cozying up in the double room. A snowy morning revealed the perfect backdrop for a full English breakfast. Don't miss the local produce offerings! Plan to watch your favorite games here—it's the ultimate pub experience!

A lovely escape
Just spent 3 nights in a cozy double room. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Dinner was a real treat with a creative menu – had the mackerel starter which was delish! Woke up refreshed after a great night's sleep. Wish there was an earlier brekkie option, but that’s no biggie.

Can't recommend highly enough for a two-day stay.
Lovely room, friendly staff, with great toiletries and delicious meals that made our stay enjoyable, not to mention the quiet location with convenient free parking that allowed us easy access to explore the area.
Everything was first-rate.

missingWrote a review on Sept 05hard bed
The bed felt really hard, leading to an uncomfortable night’s sleep. The room lacked an iron or ironing board, and there was no hot water at first, which got fixed only later. The shower in the bath presented a weak flow, which added to the frustration. A large digital alarm clock emitted excessive light and noise, turning it into an annoyance rather than a convenience. If you're sensitive to warmth, be prepared. The room was hot upon entry and even with a tower fan, it didn’t help much for a restful night.

A nice choice for one night in Ross-on-Wye with reasonable value. The selection of local beers was impressive and well-kept. Choose a room at the back to avoid noise from the bar.

Wonderful Stay with Exceptional Service
We just spent two nights in a lovely Premium Double Room, and everything exceeded our expectations. The staff truly care about providing a great experience, making us feel very welcome. The building is beautiful and incredibly well-maintained, and the food was top-notch, especially the freshly prepared breakfast. The only minor downside was the slight noise from the bar area, but it didn't detract from our overall enjoyment.

The location offers fine views of the surrounding countryside, perfect for embarking on leisurely walks. The Double Room, while varied in size, came equipped with comfy linens and a charming ambiance that set a relaxing mood for our stay.
Breakfast was a letdown, as only cafetiere coffee was provided despite the presence of a cappuccino machine in the bar. Having to order breakfast items separately for a group can be a hassle. A buffet would have made things smoother. Some Double Rooms lacked wardrobes, only having hanging rails, which felt a bit cramped. Shower temperatures fluctuated unpredictably during use, and there was a distinct lack of housekeeping services throughout the stay, which left the space feeling a bit neglected.
